Get Started
To publish a Baseprint document succession, you first use Baseprinter to create a Baseprint document snapshot. A snapshot will become the first edition of your document. Authors need to be familiar with using a Command Line Interface (CLI) and editing text files in LaTeX or Markdown.
By signing up for the perm.pub pilot program, your research document will:
- have a web page and PDF file archived in the Internet Archive,
- be accessible from pilot.perm.pub (in addition to any other websites using open-source BaseprintPress),
- help guide the direction and priorities of Baseprint software.
Authoring with Baseprinter
You can run Baseprinter on your personal computer or on a server. The easiest way to try Baseprinter is to run it on a GitHub Actions server. Follow the tutorial Author a Document via GitHub to learn how.
Hosting with BaseprintPress
You can host your own public webpages and PDF files for any Baseprint Document Succession, not just your own, using BaseprintPress. Follow the tutorial Generate Pages from a Published Document Succession to learn how.
